The Eurasian Economic Commission (ECE) is negotiating about co-financing by China of nearly 40 projects in the field of transport and infrastructure in the framework of joining the Eurasian integration with the economic belt “Silk Road”. This was told by the chairman of the UNECE, Tigran Sargsyan, in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Several or all countries of the Eurasian Economic Union participate in these projects, 11 projects are initiated by Russia. Among them, the construction of a high-speed highway “Eurasia”, a deep-water port in Arkhangelsk and the Belkomur railway line.
“Recently, a meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the five countries was held, where we also invited the Deputy Minister of Transport of the People’s Republic of China,” Tigran Sargsyan said. “In particular, we discussed priority projects that are interesting from the point of view of joining the Eurasian integration and the Silk Road. said they expected to deepen cooperation and noted the importance of our dialogue. ”
“There is a conceptual understanding of these projects, but technical consultations should be held for everyone – what will be co-financing, what are the benefits, which projects should be started, what will be the second stage,” the head of the ECE said.
